Golden Week 2010

April 29th-May 5th 2010 :: Golden Week 2010

April 29th, 2010 :: Showa Day : Akihabara & Ueno

Starting period of Golden Week (ゴールデンウィーク). It's the longest weekend in Japan. The first day was
  • Showa Day on April 29th,
  • Constitution Memorial Day on May 3rd,
  • Greenery Day on May4th,
  • Children's Day on May 5th.
This was my first time of this period in Japan, so I didn't know where I should go. But many people told me that every place has a lot of people. Ueno was the next place I went on that day.

I started with going to have buffet Pizza near Seijogakuenmae as lunch.

In the evening, there was a welcome party for Thai students who just came to Komaba International House. And inside this party, very nice seniors prepared birthday cake for 3 persons including me.

And because we selected to sit at the first car, we could see a console of the train and a train driver.

The first one is at Todaiji Temple in Nara. The Great Guddha was originally located in a temple hall, but the temple hall were destroyed by typhoons and a wave in 14th and 15th centuries.
